I Know That My Redeemer Lives!

I sit here tonight writing my papers in the basement of Tingey Hall. As I search the web for current news to include in one of those essays, I can't help but notice all of the sadness in the world, all of the heartbreak that people endure, all of the tears that must be falling. I cannot help but share just a glimpse of their pain.  I cannot help but feel sad for them, and wish that somehow all of their pains could be gone. My heart yearns to provide comfort, to deliver the message of hope and gladness that fills my life with meaning despite trials and tribulation. I wish that everyone could feel the peace and serenity that I am so blessed to feel and know. Despite tragedy, there is a way to feel whole, a way to feel peace, a way to feel happy. Isn't that what everyone wants, no matter who or where they are--isn't that what they want, just to feel happy? Among all of the pain and confusion that this world must endure, I am so blessed to know the true path to happiness. I know because I have experienced it in my life. There are a few things in this world that I could never live or breathe without and at the top of that list is my Savior and His true Gospel. Among all of the sadness, among all of the heartbreak, among all of the confusion, I know that He will always lead and guide me. I know that I will always be safe. I know that I will always be filled with this inexpressible joy that fills every inch of my body, because of my Savior and His Gospel. I know what true happiness is, and I could never deny it. I know this because I experience it every single day. I know this because I can feel it this very moment. I know.

And you can, too.

I know that my Redeemer lives!
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever living head!

He lives to grant me rich supply;
He lives to guide me with his eye;
He lives to comfort me when faint;
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.

He lives to silence all my fears;
He lives to wipe away my tears;
He lives to calm my troubled heart;
He lives all blessings to impart.

He lives to bless me with his love;
He lives to plead for me above;
He lives my hungry soul to feed;
He lives to help in time of need.

He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly friend;
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King!

He lives and grants me daily breath;
H
e lives, and I shall conquer death;
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He lives to bring me safely there.

He lives, all glory to his name!
He lives, my savior, still the same;
Oh
sweet the joy this sentence gives:
I know that my Redeemer lives!

Oh sweet the joy this sentence gives:

I know that my Redeemer lives!
