Awkward and Awesome, yo.

AWKWARD

- Teaching an in-class review in front of 150 or so students & having a student rush up immediately after to tell you your bra (she meant shirt) was "completely see-through", in ear shot of 30+ students...A look of horror immediately flashed across my face, and, in slow-motion it seemed that every single student turned to get a good look. Yeah...pretty much like those dreams where you go to school naked, but it's reality.

- The seriously infatuated, awkward, engaged couple who sit on the front row every single day, with octopus hands and no sense of the 200 other people around them. You know how in Young women's they always said, "No necking and petting" but secretly you had no idea what they were talking about? Yeah, I know now! They're like a mother cat and her long-lost kitten who hasn't been bathed in weeks...Seriously peeps, class is only an hour, one of you isn't even taking the class, chill the hormones. (I'm totally joking, but seriously, words cannot describe how hysterically awkward they are.)

- Showing up at 8:30 am to meet with your TA soulmate to go over a paper....but he forgets to show up. He's still my soulmate, okay...

- Having a conversation in your head as you walk to the Library, only to realize that what was once in your head is now coming out of your mouth and being expressed through exuberant hand motions....and then realizing that a girl from an old dance class is walking a few paces behind you and heard the whole thing...........HAHA ;)

- Sitting in a dark class on the front row with what sounds like a dragon in your colon...making very audible sounds that are clearly creepin' out the guy sitting next to you, made evident by his repeated glances out of the corner of his eye in your direction...

AWESOME

- Teaching an in-class review to 150+ students, and receiving an applause at the end. Feels pretty darn good, and I LOVE teaching anatomy :)

- Going to the Medical Clinic 3 times in one week for an infection...I know that sounds awful, but a doctor's visit=converstation with doctors=so fun :)

- The cute little ducks that frolic and forage through the dirt and leaves all across campus.

- THE SUNSHINE!!!! Provo is no longer a cold, dead waste-land! And the sunshine fills my soul to the brim :-)

- 2 hour naps in the sunshine on a Sunday afternoon.. Ahhhh :)

- Not having to wear a jacket outside anymore:)

- A sweet TA who is letting me take an exam 3 days late due to an infection! SCORE! (This is not my TA soulmate...but that would be awesome too ;)

- Sitting in the library at 11:45pm on a Friday night finishing up a paper due in 14 minutes that accounts for 20% of your total grade...and "It's My Life" comes on the speakers. Rock on.

- Having the worst day ever, but then talking to your sister and she makes it all better.

- Having the worst day ever and "calling up" your Heavenly Father, and He makes it all better.

- Opening up to a random part of the Book of Mormon and reading a scripture that answers your prayers.

- Finishing a journal after 6 months!!! I wrote almost every day (almost as in at least 3-4 times per week ;)! HUGE goal for me! WOOHOOO!

- Little kids rolling down hills.

- Long, hard runs before the sun rises.

- Basketball and hopscotch with friends. And no shoes.

- Runs through the grass, barefoot.

Life is good. On hard days it's easy to lose sight of the good things, the daily joys and miracles. But God's little tender mercies can be found if we're willing to see them.
